Chicken Nuggets

At Hands On Recipes, we decided to come up with a delicious chicken nuggets recipe that kids will still love, but adults will actually be excited about as well. Made from fresh ingredients, our chicken nuggets recipe not only tastes great, but is free of the questionable ingredients that are so frequently found in the frozen variety.

When developing our yummy chicken nuggets recipe, we knew that it was crucial that it be a quick and easy recipe that busy adult (and older children) could throw together in as short a time as possible. After all, everyone knows that chicken nuggets are meant to be a convenient food that you can have on the table pretty fast on those nights you get home late.

After plenty of work and taste testing by both kids and adults, we are proud to be able to offer our delicious, yet easy to make chicken nuggets recipe. Now, these chicken nuggets do have to sit for a period of time, so your best option is going to make them ahead of time and refrigerate them until you are ready to cook them. Best of all, chances are pretty good that you have most of the ingredients in your kitchen cabinets already.

Ingredients:
1 pound skinless, boneless chicken thighs cut into chunks
2 cups panko bread crumbs
1 cup buttermilk
½ tsp onion powder
½ tsp Italian seasoning
½ tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp garlic powder
¼ tsp cayenne pepper
Vegetable Oil
Cooking Spray
Salt and Pepper to taste

Directions:
In a bowl add chicken and buttermilk. Mix well, cover, and refrigerate for 2 hours.
After the 2 hours are over, remove the chicken from refrigerator and drain off any excess buttermilk.
Place chicken into your food processor. Add all the seasonings. Pulse until paste forms.
Shape the paste into nugget sized shapes. (If you really want to impress your children, why not use a cookie cutter to come up with some cool shapes?)
Using a large pot heat 2 inches of vegetable oil over medium heat.
Dip in panko right before putting the nuggets in the oil.
Fry nuggets flipping once, until golden brown.
Remove to cooking rack to drain and cool off.

Now, your yummy chicken nuggets are ready to be served with your favorite dipping sauce. (Although, these chicken nuggets are definitely good enough to eat all by themselves!)
