Clay Pot Orange Chicken Thighs
This is a unique twist on the standard orange chicken recipe. This recipe is cooked in a clayClay Pot Orange Chicken Thighs pot. I started experimenting with clay pot cooking and this orange chicken thigh recipe turned out great. You and your family will love the delightful flavor of clay pot orange chicken thighs!
Clay Pot Orange Chicken Thighs Ingredients:
3 pounds boneless chicken thighs

1 cup orange juice

1 teaspoon grated orange zest

2 orange slices, halved

? cup brown sugar

? teaspoon hot pepper sauce

1 tablespoon softened butter

1 tablespoon of cornstarch dissolved in 2 tablespoons of water
Clay Pot Orange Chicken Thighs Instructions:
Soak a 2 quart clay pot cooker, top and bottom, in water for about 15 minutes and then drain.
Mix together orange zest, orange juice, hot pepper sauce and brown sugar in a bowl.
Rinse the boneless chicken thighs and then dry off with a paper towel. Rub the chicken thighs with the butter and place in the claypot.
Pour the orange sauce over the chicken and then place the orange slices on top.
Place the clay pot cooker’s cover on the claypot and lace the clay pot in the center of a cold oven.

Turn oven on to 475 degrees and bake for 1 hour.
Remove the cover and bake the clay pot orange chicken, uncovered, for an additional 10 minutes.

Place chicken thighs on a platter.
Place the orange sauce from the clay pot into a sauce pan and heat over a medium high heat. Stir in the dissolved cornstarch and cook while stirring constantly until the orange chicken sauce thickens and begins to bubble.
Pour the orange chicken sauce over the clay pot orange chicken thighs and serve with your favorite vegetables and other side dishes. Enjoy!
