Sweet and Sour Chicken Drumsticks
Who can resist the great taste of sweet and sour smothered chicken? You probably think of boneless when you think about sweet and sour chicken. But this time we’re going to lend that wonderful taste to chicken drumsticks!
Sweet and Sour Chicken Drumsticks Ingredients:
3 pounds chicken drumsticks
1 onion chopped
1 tablespoon cornstarch, dissolved into ¼ cup cold water
2 tablespoons sugar
½ teaspoon black pepper
2 tablespoons lemon juice
2 tablespoon ketchup
2 tablespoons soy sauce
3 tablespoons olive oil
Sweet and Sour Chicken Drumsticks Instruction:
To make the sweet and sour mixture, in a bowl, mix black pepper, ketchup, sugar, soy sauce, lemon juice, onion, and ½ cup water.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Place chicken in hot oil and cook, turning occasionally, until golden brown on all sides. Approximately 10 minutes.
Pour the sweet and sour mixture over the chicken drumsticks. Reduce the heat to low and cover.
Cook chicken, covered, for 20 minutes or until tender. Then remove chicken drumsticks from the skillet.
Add the cornstarch and water mixture to the sweet and sour sauce left in the skillet.
Increase the heat and bring to a boil.
Cook while stirring constantly until sauce thickens.
Pour sauce over the sweet and sour chicken drumsticks and serve with rice and your favorite stir fry vegetables.
