Prosciutto Stuffed Chicken Breast
Prosciutto stuffed chicken is a delicious and different way to make cordon bleu. The stuffed chicken breast recipe is easy to prepare. The hardest part is butterflying the boneless chicken breast.
Prosciutto Stuffed Chicken Breast Ingredients:
6 boneless breasts, butterflied (instructions below)
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon butter
ΒΌ cup dry white wine
2 tablespoons chopped parsley
6 thin slices of prosciutto
6 thin slices of mozzarella cheese
Prosciutto Stuffed Chicken Breast Instructions:
Lay the boneless chicken breast flat on a cutting board and, with a sharp knife; slice horizontally until almost all the way through, but not quite. Leave one side connected so the chicken breast will open like a book. Repeat for the other 5 breast.
Place 1 slice of prosciutto and one slice of cheese on each open breast.
Fold each boneless chicken breast over, (close like a book with the prosciutto and cheese inside). Use toothpicks to skewer the stuffed chicken breast closed if desired.
Heat the olive oil and butter in a large skillet or frying pan over medium heat. Then add the prosciutto stuffed chicken breast and cook for 3 to 4 minutes on each side.
Add the dry white wine and let simmer for 5 minutes.
Place the prosciutto stuffed chicken breast on a serving platter and garnish with the parsley.
