This is one of many crescent roll recipes that are available but if you are looking for dinner ideas for tonight, nothing is quite as easy or as delicious as this particular recipe is. It requires only a few ingredients and it doesn’t take very long to prepare, making it the perfect fit for a busy week night. It also works great for holiday parties, football parties or any other get together when you need to bring something together quickly that is different from the everyday fare that you and your family typically have.

Ingredients

One of the great things about this recipe is that it requires only seven ingredients. Therefore, it is fairly economical to make. In order to make it, you need to purchase two cans of crescent rolls. Make sure you purchase the cans that have eight rolls each so that you can have a total of 16 rolls in order to make the recipe. Your other ingredients are a pound of ground beef and a packet of taco seasoning. You also need one medium onion. You can use either a white or yellow onion, according to your own personal preferences. Make sure to purchase 2 cups of cheese. It is best to choose the shredded cheese that comes in the Mexican blend for this recipe. You also need 2 cups of shredded lettuce and two sliced tomatoes.

Make It

In order to make this recipe, you will start by browning the meat. Make sure that you drain all the fat off the meat before you add anything else. Add a packet of taco seasoning, but be careful not to add any water to the recipe. Instead, mix it up well and then add your diced onion into the mix. Make sure that the meat is browned and the onions are cooked just enough.

Your next step is to take a regular pizza pan and line the entire thing with foil. Open the cans of crescent rolls and then take each roll apart and line the entire pan with the rolls. Make sure the rolls are flat and that they actually overlap the outer edge of the pan so that approximately 1/3 of the flattened crescent roll is not on the pan and the remaining 2/3 of the roll is laying flat on the pan’s surface. When you get done, you should have something that looks almost like a sunburst design with a square in the middle that has nothing on it except the foil that is covering the pan. Press the rolls down slightly, but only on the inner edges. Scoop the meat and place it all the way around the edge on top of the flattened crescent rolls. And 1 cup of cheese on top of the meat and then carefully roll the crescent rolls up over the meat and cheese mixture. This will form a ring that looks something like a calzone with a Mexican flare.

You can now bake your culinary masterpiece at 350 degrees for approximately 10 to 15 minutes. Once you remove the pan from the oven, be sure to let it cool down a little bit and then add the remaining cheese, tomatoes and lettuce into the center of the pan and serve. You can also make the recipe your own by adding sour cream or salsa.

Once you try this recipe, you will probably come back to it many times because it is easy to prepare and it tastes great. Don’t be surprised if it becomes a family favorite very quickly
