Creamy Chicken Pasta with Bacon Ingredients:
2 boneless chicken breast
2 tablespoons chicken broth
⅛teaspoon garlic powder
1 green onion, chopped
½ cup sliced mushrooms
2 bacon strips, diced
¼ teaspoon black pepper
⅛ teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 ½ teaspoons softened cream cheese
1 plum tomato diced
1 tablespoon butter
4 teaspoons all-purpose flour
½ cup of half and half cream
½ cup plus two separate tablespoons of Asiago cheese
1 cup uncooked bow tie pasta
Creamy Chicken Pasta with Bacon Instructions:
Coat the chicken breast with the cayenne and black pepper. Broil about 5 inches from heat for 3 to 5 minutes per side, or until the chicken juices run clear. Keep warm.
In a small frying pan over medium heat, cook the bacon pieces until crisp. Remove to paper towels to drain. Remove all but 2 teaspoons of bacon drippings from the pan. Add mushrooms, onion, and garlic until tender. Remove from heat and set to the side.
Cook the bow tie pasta according to the directions on the package.
While the pasta is cooking, melt the butter in a sauce pan over medium heat. Stir in flour and stir until smooth. Slowly stir in half and half cream and the chicken broth. Bring this mixture to a boil and cook for 2 minutes while stirring until thickened.
Reduce heat and add ½ cup of the Asiago cheese and the cream cheese. Cook while stirring until the cheese is melted.
Cut the chicken into strips, then drain the pasta. Mix, or toss the cheese mixture, bacon, onion and mushroom mixture, and chicken into the pasta. Top with the remaining cheese and tomato.
Sit and enjoy the Creamy Chicken Pasta with Bacon.
